I arrived to Linganore Winecellars on a rainy Saturday afternoon, looking around for places to take photos in case the rain continued throughout the day. I knew that photographs were a priority for Jordan on her wedding day, so I was anxious to create beautiful images for her, even through the rain. I had been to Linganore Winecellars before, so I was familiar with the amazing scenery of the vineyard and rolling hills that I just knew Jordan wanted to incorporate in her wedding photos. I crossed my fingers and prayed that the rain would stop, even just for a few minutes, so Jordan would have the images she dreamed of! I walked around the venue and picked out some covered locations that would work for portraits if it came down to it, but luckily for Jordan, the rain stopped just in time for portraits!!!
It was as if everything was planned out perfectly for them to be able to take portraits outside! After Jordan and Nick said “I do,” there was barely a drizzle when we decided to head for the hills… literally! We had about 3o minutes of no rain, and we were able to get SO many portraits in that time! A lot of times, bride and grooms are worried about cloudy/light-rainy days for pictures, but photographers actually LOVE cloudy days! While sunsets are beautiful, the sun can limit where you shoot, so having a cloudy day means you can pretty much shoot anywhere, and people always pop off the background so much more! So what started out with me being nervous and anxious to find a covered location for portraits in the rain, turned out to be some of the most beautiful wedding images in wide open fields, with beautiful rolling hills in the background. Ahh!
Jordan and Nick are one of those couples that I could spend all day talking and laughing with, like I’ve known them for years. Nick’s silly (and corny) jokes and Jordan’s contagious smile and laugh make you instantly feel comfortable around them. Because of this, I had been looking forward to their wedding day since their engagement session last fall! I am beyond thankful for not only being able to photograph the most important day of their lives, but also just to know them. Jordan and Nick, I wish you two nothing but a lifetime of happiness and laughter! Enjoy your wedding photos!!
